Michael’s Spectacles
For Anti-Bullying Week, Prep 2 rehearsed and performed a short play called ‘Michael’s Spectacles’ for the rest of the school. The play was written especially for Mulberry House School by Janie Mack, and was devised to educate the children about the hurt that bullying can cause.
In the story, Michael is being bullied by Trevor but discovers that by putting on some special spectacles he can see how people really are feeling inside. He sees that deep down, Trevor is feeling lonely and sad, and the lesson is learned that by being happy and kind to people you meet, you are less likely to feel isolated.
